This configuration is one what we have grown quite fond of over the past few months. You may have seen it features on G4TV’s “Attack Of The Show” as our $1000.00 gaming PC that scored the highest benchmarks in the history of their $1000 PC reviews. Most who have purchased this configuration have decided to leave it as is, while others have decided to use the base configuration as a starting point and created a unique configuration that will shift the focus onto components they consider more important. This end-user decided it was more important to upgrade the case, motherboard, CPU cooler, RAM, and graphics card. This was a very wise decision for someone who plans to game day in and day out. The upgraded V6 case (as opposed to the V5) allows for future component expansion, and also features a built-in docking station for hard drives that is hot-pluggable. The motherboard upgrade increases RAM expansion to 32GB, speed to 2133Mhz, and included a few extra USB and firewire ports. The Zalman cooler will reduce fan noise, along with temperatures, making it possible to keep the system on 24/7 without the risk of temperatures bottoming out. High speed RAM at 1600MHz seems to be more of a demand these days. Though, real world results have proven that the speed it simply not needed at this point in time is certainly give room for bragging rights. 8GB of dual-channel DDR3 RAM is also the new standard, like 4GB was to the socket 775 era. Last but not least, the ATI Radeon 6950 was upgraded to ensure comfortable gaming levels without burning up your wallet. This base configuration was hand-picked by our IT professionals and was no surprise when it received exceptional results. We were happy to see someone was able to take our creation and put a spin on it to claim it as their own.
