A gaming system is one of the most favorite configurations we assemble and test at AVADirect. Knowing that the end-user has such a demand for performance, stability, and gameplay leaves us in anticipation during the whole process. We test each gaming system with a plethora of software, from Unigen, to 3DMark 11 to make sure benchmarks are where they should be, and stability is following right behind. This end-user decided to take advantage of a few of the perks that our gaming configurations provide. One of them being the free mild overclock we offer for all gaming and workstation configurations. We were able to clock the processor at 3.9Ghz, providing a 12% overclock to increase the end-users gaming experience. Throw in GTX 580 AMP! graphics cards in SLI and you have yourself one killer machine. Some may say that 16GB of RAM is overkill, and you may be right, but what’s to say this customer does not plan to use the machine for photo/video/audio editing in the future? Either way it’s still nice to have the option. Computers have always been praised for the fact that they have a multitude of usefulness, unlike a gaming console that binds you to one specific purpose. The OCZ Vertex 3 SSD, with read performance of 550MB/s and write performance of 500MB/s will be more useful for quick boot up times, fast operating system functions, and heavily reduced loading times. The solid state disk will not be as useful for other tasks that require sequential read and writes, but it will certainly cut through waiting periods for random read and writes. This end-user did not have any assistance in building this configuration, so it’s a pleasure to see that he has found his home at AVADirect.
